Huffer Child Care Resource and Referral is a non-profit agency serving 10 counties, Delaware, Madison, Henry, Rush, Shelby, Fayette, Hancock, Union, Wayne, Randolph Counties. Huffer Child Care Resource and Referral promotes quality child care by providing support services for families, providers and the  community. We believe that the Child Care Resource and  Referral system is the appropriate vehicle for  promoting quality environments to meet the needs of all young children in our society.We are committed to providing consumer education services to families to help them understand the importance of seeing that their children are in quality environments. We help families find Licensed Child Care Facilities, Family Child Care Providers, Registered Child Care Ministries, Pre-School Opportunities, School Age Child Care Programs, Parenting Information Programs, as well as Child Care Subsidy Intake Sites. We provide families with consumer education materials concerning quality child care, developmentally appropriate practices, and child growth and development. We provide expanded referrals for families with children who have special needs as well as families with children who are infants through the Indiana Partnership for Inclusive child Care (IPICC) and Better Baby Care Indiana (BBCI). We serve as a marketing tool for licensed centers, homes, and registered ministries, as well as providers who meet the minimum CCDF (Child Care Development Fund) standards for the State of Indiana. We provide trainings throughout our service delivery area based upon the providers areas of interest continually promoting developmentally appropriate practices. It is our goal to increase high quality child care slots by providing Orientation Training I and II– which is required of all potential providers by the State of Indiana in order to receive a license. Huffer Child Care Resource and Referral houses a resource library with developmentally appropriate materials available for check out and use by providers. Our Outreach Specialist helps employers identify and meet the needs of their employees providing presentations onsite that relate to child care issues facing the employer. Huffer Child Care Resource and Referral helps bring child care as an issue to the entire community fostering support for quality child care initiatives. We work to meet the unique needs of each community by documenting trends and offering assistance to be the voice of child care.
